I can only speak for my daughter's team but we've found it to have solid training/development without the drama that I read about here. My daughter loves her teammates, they are very supportive of each other, and they adore their coach, which is what we're looking for at this age. She's made huge technical improvements the last couple of years in PPA and I'm amazed by her understanding of the game and how she explains why she made certain plays after reading the field.
As a huge bonus, we've also found that the other parents are generally nice people and fun. We want the kids to do well (and they do) but everyone keeps it positive and focused on the team.

The coaches work as a team across all age groups and coach developmentally appropriate skills at each age group. All the coaches are European and work together to be consistent with style of coaching. The players at the younger ages learn a lot in a fun environment. It's a small, new club that doesn't get the numbers that Bethesd does. But still develop players and teams love the game.

Bsc
Potomac
Ppa/msi classic
? Do girls play sam select
Msi rec
Yes there are variations to this. We all know bsc has lower teams whose level may be considered rec with professional coaches. Just trying to give OP a loose guide. I do not know any other girls teams. Possibly Juventus that had a huge thread ( my ds friend played for them at u8 and he was very talneted FWIW) .
I agree but like to modify it a little:
BSC
Potomac
MSI Academy
PPA/MSI Classic/SAM Select
MSI Rec
Avoid Potomac especially girl's side.

Maximum of two teams per age group.
Wrong for BSC. Currently 3-4 at u8-u11.
Potomac typvially has one or two. In the fall they did not have enough for u9 but supposedly have a team now.

What’s the mix of coaching & drills versus little scrimmages?
Which club are you referring to?
Any would be helpful so can assess the MoCo lists above.
I have one technical drill kid and one Get Out there and run 5 miles kid, who’s younger.
BSC I can't answer for every team but most girls in that age range have practiced at Walter Johnson, Tilden and Norwood this year. Generally the ages are together at same time and split by team with some combining. The practice intensity and focus on technical/tactical will vary by level of team and the coach. This is u8 and up. The Juniors Program is its own animal that I'm not that tuned into but it's definitely not intense and there's no teams yet so mix of drills and games.
Anonymous wrote:MD Fusion - same level of coaching as Bethesda etc, but cheaper and less drama
