It makes me look less angry for sure. I have these deep, deep lines that are then surrounded by smooth, glowy skin. Its downright bizarre looking sometimes actually- like the skin age and the muscle age don't line up. A light touch helps immensely to not look like I'm scowling when I am not making any expression at all

If your lines are that deep you should be getting filler there & a little Botox. I know this from going with an ex to his appt. And for the record, he's a black straight attorney who just does this in his "11s"- and no, you could never tell.

It's funny to see all the Botox bashers who firmly believe only overdone, plastic looking white women get fillers or Botox. You HAVE NO IDEA about who's getting what done because if it's done well it's not obvious!

Some injectors will do filler in the forehead, but it is actually really dangerous and not typical or very safe. So, I disagree.

I also agree lots of people in DC probably get a little help here and there. I don't think anyone I know would suspect I have any Botox (although I am open about it). My friend who started getting tox and fillers last year is the last person you'd expect would get it. There are definitely frozen foreheads and arched brows, but there are also lower doses of more subtle effects, and that's what I want. No shade to anyone at all who wants to look like Nicole Kidman in a fancy coat with a glass upper face...I just don't.

Seriously, not true. Not true, not true, not true.

I know there are Botox haters out there but I’ve been getting Botox for migraines for a decade, and in addition to injection sites all over my head and neck they do the standard cosmetic sites - and they do a lot more than someone would do for cosmetic reasons.

When it wears off it’s gone. GONE.

Also the overarched brow, which I’ve had many many many times because my injector is a neurologist and not a cosmetic dermatologist, is about the placement, not about “too much” Botox.

I don’t know why so many people think they know about Botox and post dumb replies here when they know nothing at all.

+1!

Will that frozen forehead look go out of style, like super thin eyebrows did in the 20s or Bert & Ernie eyebrows of today?
I’m noticing more men are getting Botox and it looks super obvious and strange on them (see Matt Gaetz)

I actually find Botox to be aging, unless it's minimal.

So insightfully stereotypical. THANKS

You look older after it wore off? No.

This doesn't make sense. I have gotten it just 3 times and even though it wears of completely in between (every 6 months), I notice it has a bit of a cumulative effect at keeping the muscle relaxed even though it has total movement once its worn off. Sort of like forced muscle memory I suppose.

+1. You don't need to continually raise your botox dosage to "fix" the previous "damage."

Regardless of OP's anecdote, a body of research shows that botox prevents wrinkles by rendering muscles immobile.

OP, I recommend you go to a doctor with your image from 5 months ago and ask what is going on. Get some blood work done to rule out anything major.

Yes that’s the whole point. It’s not one and done.

Botox starts to make people look weird the longer they get it. It starts to look plastic and unnatural. Also, they get the overarching of the eyebrows which is a telltale sign of too much botox.
