Ignore the quarantine and testing requirements and next time don't tell the teacher if/when you are traveling. Tell kid to keep is trap shut. You're welcome.

OP, I hear you. All of the guidance is so inconsistent. We can take our kids within the DMV and PA without having to test/quarantine, but anything beyond that we do and have to follow their interpretation of the CDC guidelines. So to go visit my vaccinated parents in NY (staying at their house) we have to test 3-5 days after returning and even if negative keep them home for a full week. Meanwhile anyone taking their kids to a crowded unmasked boardwalk in Ocean City has to do none of these things. Unfortunately my 4yo blabs and knows where his grandparents live We've pushed off our visit until July but if this is still in place then I'll have to suck it up and take off an extra week of work. Be grateful yours is just voluntary!

We're not in DC, we're in a red state where people think you're a weirdo if you're wearing a mask outdoors. No one wears masks to play or watch sports. It's basically Florida rules here.

What are testing turnaround times like where you live? It's gotten pretty quick here again and there are some faster PCR options. Why not strike a compromise and just get the test when you come back into town rather than waiting 5 days? I get kids blabbing about where they went but are they going to be precise about when they came back? In any event, it sounds like a suggestion and an honor system. We have to provide test results to ours.

I think the quarantine after travel is bizarre in a case like yours where your state is open and unmasked to begin with. I get that around here people are nervous about going to places that are less strict.

Then open up your own preschool and set the rules you want. Otherwise, stick to the rules they are requiring and rest.

Asking that you “consider” doing something is different than stating it as a rule or regulation....especially if they are just bringing this up now in a newsletter and there was no prior guidance. In this case upon “considering” I would be comfortable opting not to quarantine/test (absent a more specific exposure concern) given that as op notes, travel is no more inherently risky than any number of other activities.

OP you have already made your decision.

You only posted on here to be a troll about masks and quarantines.

Be responsible and get everyone tested, don't be a sub human.

Caring for others should not be that hard in a pandemic.

This is a lie. It’s not fake science. Why do you think they keep suggesting it? Also why are there so many selfish people? Florida is a hot spot. You heard this term I know because it relates to places like New York, Michigan and the like. If you are traveling to a place where COVID is surging, you should test when you return and remain until the results are backs thag clear you. YOU are the one making the decision to travel to a hot spot for vacation, not the members of the school. If you and your kids get COVID, so be it. It why put the teachers, students and parents at risk due to your ignorance? Find another place to vacation with the kids. Did you ever think of that? It’s selfish people that will keep this pandemic going.
