This would be an opportunity for Elrich or the Council to actually show some guts and put out some forceful words, but they won't do that either. I can't imagine Elrich doing so, would be nice to see some of the more reasonable Council members do anything. I can think of one or two that would probably want to but won't for the sake of county politics and it being a perceived risk to say anything at all negative about Gayles.
They all have the same mindset. I am almost certain they see nothing wrong with his comments.

Anonymous wrote:I think it would be a pretty effective campaign tool to plaster these remarks everywhere and skewer the politicians who did nothing in response. I know many, many people--pretty much all Democrats--who would take great offense to that description of a father reaching out about schools. Especially in the Chevy Chase/ Bethesda/Potomac/Rockville area. Dare I say a majority. Even those of us who are in MCPS (and he screwed that up too)

It does not matter if he was right or wrong on the merits. You cannot have these types of people in positions of public trust.
It certainly maters that he was wrong on the merits. His judgment sucks and has been proven wrong.

Maybe Reimer- I think he’s kinda sleazy but he has been trying to position himself as the alternative to Elrich and at one point did come out in favor of prioritizing schools and childcare.
In the MPIA there is an email of Gayles complaining about Reiner and dissing his own boss https://mobile.twitter.com/SmPotatoes/status/1388471834220408834/photo/1
It's incredible that no one likes Riemer. I think he's a FOS.
