1. Do all the “academy” programs when offered for the age group (or at least as many as possible) - but maybe most important is the winter program. The advanced academy (which was mentioned in a prior post) was by invitation this year (although not sure if others who learned of it could have joined?!) and my theory is it was based on kids who have already showed an interest the additional training programs.
2. Definitely do the advanced academy program if given the chance - the vast majority of kids on the top fields for tryouts came from
Advanced academy.
3. This past year, the field predictions were spot on - Field 1 vs Field 2. And within Field 1, you could walk down it and see the progression from the top fields to the lower ones.
I am the OP. My kid did not of these, just a few half day summer capstone summer camps last year and rec soccer this year. Just want to give others hope.

Just curious why travel is opened to 2014 but ADP is not opened to 2014...

Anonymous wrote:We are new to the travel soccer world, but had overheard another group of parents saying something similar - that there was a method to the madness with the field assignments which be used to gauge likelihood of getting on the team. But I had not heard what fields were what! So thanks for the tip about the Field 1 and Field 2. We are keeping fingers crossed, but there were lots of eager young boys playing their hardest! Good luck to all!

Congrats OP! did you think the field 1/2 theory above was right?
