+1. Only issue for us is locations, we live near Wilson.

This school would be on the top of my list if my child was entering high school.
Just curious?
We all know the answer to this, but I'll just spell it out. This is DCUM, its demographics are largely white and UMC and above, and Banneker is too black for their taste.
More DCUM Race Rancor stuff, so old.
There’s a ton of other information above that would be actually useful to OP.

My opinion? It's not a top choice here because Banneker is 2% White. Folks aren't willing to have their child be an "only".

The racial division trolls here on DCUM need another bite at the apple.
Note that the OP doesn’t ask a real question and doesn’t even claim to have a kid considering Banneker. The first post of the thread seems to be just stirring the pot.
First of all this is the OP and at that a native Black Washingtonian who just recently moved back. I am not stirring any pots. I am new to the forum
so my question is valid and I had not read any other posts on the school. I have so many friends who have graduated from this school and attended top universities. I am
wondering why it’s not a sought after option for parents as I do have a child who will be entered high school in no time. I only see constant posts about Wilson so that is why I was asking.

Personally I’m not concerned about my child getting accepted to college. I want her to have opportunities to go to an elite college if that’s what she wants to do. I look more closely at which colleges the high school graduates are accepted to than whether they are accepted
