HE was decent but we departed after that year due to a caustic clique environment... so glad we got out of that team. Ole 20 minute ODP CG was also an issue. Didn’t matter how good DS played... he got precisely 20 minutes a half. There were definite favorites there. We didn’t fit into their plans.
I almost feel like that’s youth sports in general especially when talking competitive soccer. And I absolutely hate it but people make it seem like that is the norm for young teens. Sometimes I wonder if it’s the parents that allow that behavior to fester and it not only is like that amongst the team but you’ll have cliques and caustic environment amongst the parents as well.
OH!! Well.... more than 50% of that caustic environment was fueled by the clique parents to include the team manager. DS went to the small club in Fairfax and LOVED it. Opened up opportunities abroad that NO ONE around here truly does. But the #gotsoccer points weren’t impressive so I guess it was all a waste.![]()

Also I hear kids are leaving left and right. They are a mess! Has anyone heard about this? My DS wants to tryout for them, but after doing my hw.....I wonder if I should steer him in a better direction?

As the mother of a son and daughter who both play for VDA now, I can tell you that the pathway to play for VDA is probably the number 1 reason people go to VSA and PWSI. Think about it, if your son or daughter is the star player at a club, the coach isn’t going to want to send them to play for a higher level team. They will want them to stay. But with the VSA and PWSI pathway, all players are working their way up the system.
Also, VSA and PWSI have better facilities in imo. Lastly, NVSC’s social media and communication tools are pretty outdated. Young parents and kids are swayed by how a club’s social media presence is. Not saying it should be that way, but it’s true.
Im being super picky but I wish the sidewalk that surrounds Ali Krieger's fields went around it closer like at Long Park so when watching games in the rain its not a muck fest lol.

What success?
