You’re conflating affirmative action with asian-bias in admissions. Two different things.

Not really, it’s just statistics. There were a lot more white applicants than Asian applicants so it’s safe to assume there is more variation within the white applicant pool and thus more unqualified kids

It’s probably the one for people who don’t answer or pick “other”? If you look at the number vs the percentage, it’s a small number of people.

I’m shocked by how few kids apply from in state. Guess kids are just aware of the racket of paying the application fee when only thing that matters are grades and scores.

+1 the question is not about quantity, it’s about how hard it is to get in which speaks to quality of the applicant. This graph is irrelevant because it doesn’t show any actually admissions qualifications or merit scoring info.

Literally hundreds of statistic, evidence based and anecdotal articles across academic journals, newspaper editorials, magazines, op-ed’s from at least the last 2 decades on this. Nothing new. Some Asian kids omitting info that they are Asian because it helps increase their chances of admissions like the one here.

According to that data, it’s easier for Asian kids than white. What’s the category that’s cut off right above white? Looks like that’s the category you want to be in— much higher chance of getting in.
