Car dealers aren't interested in your trade in. It's not a money maker for them. You are always better off to sell it yourself or go to CarMax. Glad it worked out so well for you OP.

Totally wrong. Most dealers these days will buy your car even without selling you one. Used car market is big money.

We had one salesperson tell us the new car price is firm, but the used car price flexible. We could/should demand more for the used car in order to finalize the deal, otherwise we would walk. It worked in our situation and got an extra $1000 from the KKB price.
