FTA- This reminds me of when my mom used to send me mayo and cheese sandwiches for lunch in a brown bag. It would sad out all morning regardless of the whether. Not only did I survive but I bed it’s what gave me my very strong immune system .

Mine too! I was just thinking about that this morning as I tossed an ice pack into DD's lunch box. I would get mayo & cheese and a pudding cup in a paper bag. Never got sick (although I feel ill now thinking about the nutrients I was probably missing for most of my childhood)

In Europe the Mayo is kept on the table like ketchup. All the time.

Do all these people not realize that kids have been leaving sandwiches at room temperature in their lunch bags for hours for generations and been fine?

That's like, one of the most normal and ubiquitous food experiences in the western world. How is this even a question?!

I figure it’s wealthy people. We had a hard time affording food while I was growing up and this would not even be a concern for us.

These “is this food safe to eat” always delight me because they are almost always something I wouldn’t even think about it.
