usually in the 20s. rarely 30s and rarely 10s. But yeah usually high teens to mid 20s per classroom.

The classes are very crowded and they are able to spend their time hanging out on couches instead of in classrooms. So they may love it if they don’t actually want to be in class. It is a small district but classes themselves are not small.

Maybe not Langley, but McLean is more racially and economically diverse than George Mason/Meridian.
The stats show that mclean is not very economically diverse. (source: niche) George mason/meridian is way more economically diverse. I don't know about mclean but it sounds more economically and racially diverse than langley, thats for sure.

the median household income is 115 thousand while in mclean its 205 thousand.

I did ask my high school kids. They looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if they were hanging out on couches instead of in classrooms.
Not happening for my kids either. (9th and 11th) They like the couches for group work, but it's not like they're hanging out there INSTEAD of going to class.

Look into the new FCCPS grading system. In many classes, the entire quarter grade is based on one test or essay assignment. The kids hate it and it's very stressful.

In the past 6 years my child's best friend moved out of FCCPS and back into Falls Church Fairfax County. The friend went from being in pull out classes in FCC for needing additional support to immediately labeled as gifted in FCPS. Nothing changed academically, it's just that the standards of the two school districts are very different.
We're back in school 5 days a week and have been for a while. Every step of the way during the pandemic our school district was able to make changes quicker. Mostly because its a much smaller school district. My child has had only 15-21 kids in classes. This year is the highest ever at 24. That's far below FCCPS classs sizes too (the exception being title I schools).
As for being rich and white...my child is about to go into middle school. At least 50% of the class is mixed race. They may identify as one race or the other I don't know. The Great Schools stats don't align with what I see racially. We live in a neighborhood with Federal employees, state department employees, military, teachers, retirees and others. There are some rich people in FCC but the are average folks too! There certainly aren't rich folks like the ones in Great Falls or North Arlington. Not sure why we get such a bad rap for it.
I'm pretty sure the threshold for qualifying for gifted programs in FCC is higher than FC. My very smart child was basically average in FCC. It's been like that for many years.
