Yeah but they are supposed to collect them from either the corrals or directly from people. Not stray carts from parking spaces. That's just crappy.

What a jerk!
My xH was like this. Said if the employees didn't like rounding carts up, they could go to school and get a real job like he did.
One time a guy at Harris Teeter finished unloading and pushed his cart in front of my car. I pushed it right back in front of his, and because his trucks was so massive, he didn't see it and hit it. Hope he learned his lesson that day.

I would be APPALLED!
This is my secret test for if a person is a good person or not.
It's a super easy thing to do, takes very little effort/time, and has no benefit to you but helps others.

Interesting. My DH always puts the cart back. I didn't realize this was as much a marker of virtue as apparently it is. Good on him.
On the other hand, he will also repark the car like 6 times if he's not happy with the way it's lining up in the spot, so I had always assumed his conscientiousness about the carts was just part of the same perfectionism.

I’ve always been pretty good about putting the cart back, but I’ve been a sticker for it since I came out of the store a few years ago to find a cart resting against my car with a dent and a broken taillight (parking lot was on a slight hill).

If I have my kid with me I put it in the closest corral but if I am by myself I will return it to the store.
Did he not put it back in the corral or not take it back to the store? If he just left it out in the open next to cars or up on a grassy area then it speaks volumes about who he is.

When we tag team at the grocery store, we both unload the cart. Whoever is driving gets the car started (finishes arranging the groceries) and the other person puts the cart in the corral.

I hate that they take up spaces with cart corrals, but I will put my cart in one if it is close. If it is far away, I put it somewhere where it won't hit other cars. Isn't this a job for someone?
