Do folks like living here? Looks like a cute place.

Kicking myself for not buying this or another Mt. Rainier property back when we were looking for an investment property in 2018.

We bought our Mt Rainier house in 2018 and while it has appreciated a lot, I think it's comparable to Silver Spring, Brookland etc. Everywhere has gone up. You needed to buy that Mt Rainier house in 2010. Or better yet, 1999.

Eh. We bought in 2017 abs house has already appreciated ~100k.

I live in a less popular part of PG and my house has probably appreciated 200k. The entire county is reaching some frothy highs in terms of prices.

I'm glad you didn't. This is a nice, reasonable home for a small/young family, not an "investment".

if you want a safe place, with a lot of young professionals, who are generally friendly, and is affordable yet only a few blocks from DC., then mt rainier is one of the places to be.

I have to say, everyone is so friendly here. It’s so nice.

nice in a very genuine/inclusive way... not the OP

it's a hidden gem in the DMV, but maybe not much longer. Generally, crime around the edges and school perception kept families away, but that seems to be changing (probably cause where else can you get something this affordable that's relatively safe/close in?).

People like living in Mt. Rainier. Given the recent trends in the market, I wouldn't be surprised it it goes over asking.

If you are curious about schools, I suggest posting in the MD Schools forum where you will get first hand experiences.

Mt Rainier is like half apartments. What is wrong with you.

Not luxury apartments.

There are “luxury” apartments all along rte 1 from Brentwood to the beltway now.

I think neighborhoods change and demand for "luxury" apartments can increase as these neighborhoods change.
