My kid goes to WMS. In spite of 2 vaccinated teachers teaching from home, she has had a very positive experience. It’s a no brainer to me. Send the kids back and focus on their academic progress and social and mental well being. The school has very strict protocols and the students are wearing masks. There are no more than 9 kids per class sitting over 6 feet apart. I am not too concerned about Covid with this risk mitigation.

Only school discussed on here so far with waitlist movement was Swanson. WMS no doubt is the highest. But there are plenty of classes in WMS with 4-5 hybrid kids in attendance on a given day.

I bet WMS had the highest % in hybrid already signed up. It sounded like the waitlist movement was from schools with a lower % already in the school.

Does anyone here know anyone who has gotten a call off the WMS waitlist?

Not when it rains though right?

NP. On the most recent rainy day, they had 15 min to eat inside and then head to the library where masks were back on and they sat distanced. My daughter said it wasn't too bad, but you have to eat fast. She loves having personal space and wishes school were distanced all the time. I did not expect her being so positive about it.

Mine hasn’t. HS senior send it’s a miserable experience. She’s back to virtual. ONE kid is left in hybrid out of a class of 25. Way to go APS.

My HS junior is very happy to be back hybrid, regardless of the number of hybrid students in her classes (ranges from 4 to 8).
then they’re lucky. Do they have any online teachers? Crammed in the auditorium with 150 of their friends not able to talk since everyone is in a different class. APS really screwed the HS kids. 79 more days and we’re done with APS forever. Can’t come soon enough.

The kids who were miserable in DL and miserable the brief time they went back in clearly show that school isn’t the answer to all the things kids cope with.

Same with WMS, but there’s been two days now where they cannot do outside lunch due to weather, which is expected. Apparently after the kids were done with lunch the monitors in the cafeteria led the kids through some games which they said was fun, but some kids did not put their mask back on after they’re done eating. Just want to level set.

Swanson offers outside lunch and is keeping the 6ft distancing if that makes a difference to you.
