PP here. Yeah, I was excited for the bill but it really doesn’t do anything as written. A million loopholes for teachers and school districts.

Good. He's governing an entire (large) state. There are other issues besides this one. I hope he doesn't insert the emergency clause.
Our only hope is the emergency clause, for goodness sake. At least in Arlington. Seeing as our Superintendent and SB can't get their act together. For those that are not supportive, luckily they have an option to remain remote. Enough already.
Duran said we are going back 5 days in the fall. Schools are starting to plan for it too. Duran has always been great about communicating and has been following through on what he’s said- even if you didn’t agree with his plans.
We are going back 5 days in the fall, exactly as Duran already planned.

Governor made no changes. That part is in. Virtual is optional and can be done however districts like, including concurrent.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:So they must offer five days a week in person with a real human teacher teaching in the room, but it could still be concurrent, right? For kids who want 100% DL?
100% full-time, distance learning will be an option. I'm trying to figure out what the "In-person" mandate looks like..

I'm sorry, but Duran said he **plans** to go back 5 days in the fall. Given his lack of leadership and planning thus far, I do not have faith he has a legit plan in place. Until he says there is a plan and schools WILL open for 5 days in the fall, I am leaning on the Governor to make full-time in-person learning mandatory.
