OP, here is what you don’t get, or maybe you do. In Republican controlled states, acceptable forms of ID were deliberately chosen to favor likely Republican voters. Gun licenses, for example might be fine, while college issued student ID cards might not be, even from State schools. Driver’s Licenses are rarer among younger and more urban voters in some areas. They also cost money, might require a difficult or even impossible to get birth certificate, and might require a trip to a DMV in a location that you need a car to get to. Oops. Just a coincidence, I’m sure.
- Most of us would be fine with a free, government issued ID card — as long as it did not increase our vulnerability to fraud. Pause for a minute and note that the Republicans have never supported this idea. Yep, the party that says that this is needed has zero plans for accomplishing this.
- the most important issue though is that actual voter fraud is infinitesimally small.
- While you’re thinking through these issues, maybe pause and look at what’s going on now in Georgia and why the very politicians who are for increased voter “security “ are the same ones who are against the Voting Rights Act.
OP, your use of the word “whining “ suggests that you’re less than sincere. You’re right: it isn’t that hard. Which is why so many Republican politicians are making it harder — at least for some of us. But you knew that.

But voting doesn’t require an ID.
If you oppose a law requiring showing an ID in order to vote, then you are for voter fraud. There is no other plausible reason.
Voting is a right, not a privilege. Furthermore, where is any evidence that there is even voter fraud to begin with? This is just a new way to disenfranchise black people.
Ah, there it is! The same BS excuses.
You really have no idea what you are talking about. It is just a fact that non-white people lack state issued ID more often than whites people. It’s a fact. I know you people really struggle to understand facts but just f**king keep reading that sentence over and over and maybe you’ll get there.
So then you might want to be like...too bad, get an ID. But that’s a different argument. The point is ...RIGHT NOW...requiring an ID has a racist impact. You just literally cannot live in reality.
Stop the hysterics.
There is not an election on "RIGHT NOW". So you'll have quite a while to tell everyone they need to get an ID.
THere’s an election of some kind in every state, every year.
Here’s a question for you....why did they make it illegal to give water to people waiting on line to vote in GA? Maybe that will clue you in a tiny bit as to what is actually going on here.
