Yes, the kids love them and they get them dirty and wear them out.
I'm not usually sending them to school in the shirts, but they are fine.

I hold off until they specifically ask for it. I don't really like them, but enjoy my daughter's smile zipping through the house on a rescue mission in her Paw Patrol dress.

It would be hypocritical of me not to allow it. My favorite t-shirt in 1983 had a picture of Princess Leia from Return of the Jedi on it. I wore it to pieces.

I don't like words, characters, and am very selective about graphics of any kind of clothes meant to be worn out of the house. But DS' pajama collection is an assault to my eyeballs that he thoroughly enjoys nightly.

My 10 yo son still wears character t shirts and doesn't care what others think of it. He still has a Lion Guard and a Sonic shirt as well as a few superhero ones he still wears quite often and he still wears his favorite Sonic PJs almost every night.

I honestly can't yell or discipline my child for wearing character clothing. It makes him so happy. When he is older, I'll explain how unfair the world is and how he is being judged for not wearing Brooks Brothers on the weekends and Hugo Boss during the week. but I'm letting him be a carefree kid for now.
PS We haven't event watched the move Cars, or rather, we started it one night and everyone (including the kid) absolutely hated it. He still loves that red car on his sweater.)

I have this conversation with my mother all the time. All my 5 year old wants to wear are 1. a Lightning McQueen sweater and 2. t-shirts with sharks on them. My mother is appalled and thinks we should be dressing him in more elegant clothes (which she keeps shipping and I keep washing and folding and then donating as he outgrows them, barely worn).

I had no idea this was a “low class” thing. My kids have loved many characters over the years. My youngest now (2) loves Spider-Man, paw patrol and trucks... that’s all he wants to wear and it’s so cute that he is so excited about it. THAT is all I care about. Does it not caring whether other people think I am “low class” makes me low class? I doubt it
