Yeah I hear ya, but just not willing to do that. We sort of did that at the beginning but DH and I both have some health issues that arent in the tier but we feel would be problematic with covid.

But outdoor masked playdates (where both children are masked) is pretty low risk, OP.

Thanks yeah we just have to start scheduling more one on one play dates in non playgrounds between masked kids outside. I will do that. Today was just hard for some reason.

Walgreens near edgewater Maryland etc. there is no reason to wait until may 1. There are plenty of appointments in more trumpy places where demand is soft. And don’t let anyone make you feel bad. We are months into vaccination and in a race against the variants.

As someone who lives in PA, I’m pretty sure eligibility is not wider here.

We have an only. 5.5. Pretend is not fun the way she requires. Hybrid helps, but shes not awesome at initiating play with kids her age.

My kids have been playing outdoors with other kids since last May. Zero issues.

The places that I I see that have spots on Cvs and Walgreens are either near frostbite Maryland (3.5 hours away) or Salisbury (same). Seems like if there’s a possibility they might check my license (not Maryland) it would be a waste to go there and come back empty handed.

I feel this way too. I have an only who started public PK (virtual) this year and I can’t wait for her to be able to play with other kids. We are fine with her praying with other kids outside, but she’s shy and just not getting enough social practice right now so still very reliant on us. It was so much easier last year when she was in PT daycare and would play at playgrounds with other kids and I could get a break and sit down or talk with other parents or even read a book. I am tired of being her only playmate (other than her dad). I am more anxious to normalize kid-to-kid interaction (at least outside) than I am to get to do the grown up stuff I miss.

I’m starting to let kids play outside but people we already knew.

Do your kids have friends from school? I bet if you reach out, they would play outside.

Playing outside is fine. We’ve let our kids have indoor and outdoor maskless play dates for months. It’s great. Really don’t know how you’re still sane. If you’re really freaked, have them wear masks.

+1

They could probably play indoors safely as long as they’re masked, too.

I’m right there with you. I can’t wait for the go ahead to let my kids play with other kids. This has been a very long year for everyone.
