Absolutely 100% agree. Thank you.

BSC had to move the April tournament or all the teams would pull out.

No they have all spoken at one point or another during Covid. Potomac has their tournament Memorial Day weekend and hopefully it can still be a go. Bethesda is doing their tournament the weekend of April 2/3 and moved it to Howard County. MSI is the only other big "club" and they gave up on their tournament. Also, MSI rec and classic just plays other county teams, so the mask mandate may not be that big of a deal.

Anonymous wrote:Ummm, no normal person is accepting of the mask mandate in Montgomery County. Potomac will go bankrupt as a result. Bethesda moved Bethesda Cup out of Montgomery County because of the mandate. Many said they were going to withdraw due to the mandate.
Pretty sure Montgomery County is the only county in Maryland State along with the DMV that says players have to wear masks while playing. We've played all around the beltway and Jefferson Cup without having to wear masks while playing.
Parents wearing masks, players wearing masks while not playing is more than enough. There is little to zero evidence game situations have resulted in transmission of CoVid. That is a fact. I'm sorry if the truth offends you.

She was bending the truth slightly to make a point. Every politician does it basically every time they speak.

The clubs all play out of the county. we had a home game about an hour away. If you watched her testimony about the loss of hotel rooms, 5000 and soon to be 10,000 that is a lot of lost revenue.
Look at the Jeff Cup this past weekend. We had an early Friday game so 3 nights, you have to wonder how many others did a 3 night stay, just the tax revenue from the rooms, add on the food and beverage. Richmond did a great job with it.
She shouldn't have made it all about Potomac but about all the clubs
That’s a good point.
I just looked up the Potomac website. Why are they just doing a tournament for Boys? It sends a bad message that they don’t care for girl. Talk about inequality.
This has been an issue for many years. They only do boys and don't seem interested in having it for girls too. This is one of the reasons we left the club.
That is not true. They did have a tournament with boys and girls years ago, but they didn't get as many girl teams to show, so they dropped them. They tried for several years to bring girls teams back to the tournament, but with a tournament in Virginia and Columbia the same weekend, they couldn't get enough teams to show.
