One of the worst things you can do is come back and cuss out the same group of people from whom you’ve asked for help. I know this is emotional for you, but you need to calm down. Your goal is to gather information, not shut this down. Ignore the trolls- 1st rule of DCUM. It would also help if you did some personal research on independent schools in the area. There is a lot of info out there. Know the acronyms and read about the different heads of the schools (HOS). It will help you narrow things down considerably.
SSFS has one of the best HOSs in the area. They’re far out, but may be a great choice. Good luck with your search.

This is NOT the person who started the thread you are replying to, it is the person whose kids are at SFS and people accused them of not being Black. Reason to be ticked in my opinion.

Can you all just STOP and get back to helping that family that posted find a good place to look at for their kids.

This isn't the place for this conversation. If you want advice, I would seek it out from your circle or ask to speak with black folks at those schools. Of course, this statement "[I]f you have a confident child, I am sure they will thrive at any school" isn't true. But, PP, I'm glad your sons are thriving.

I was a confident child who had to deal with racism and micro aggression. No matter the confidence, that takes a toll. Trying to avoid that for a child makes sense.

My children have came across some micro aggression and directly dealt with it back. My children came from DCPS and heard far worse. Doesn't make it ok, but just another day and opportunity to let others know your boundaries.
