Vet practice owner here -
The AVMA has not given the green light for vet practices to open fully. Actually, they have given little guidance at all since telling vets to close their offices to humans. It is frustrating to us to have to deal with a lack of direction too.
How about using common sense? You are annoying your customers. Massage therapists, physical therapists, doctor's offices, dentists, etc. are all operating and working with humans with no incident.

But yeah, it’s frustrating now because Vets and vet techs were in the 1A group, so most out not all will have been vaccinated by now. So really, as long as masks are worn it would be reasonable to allow pet owners in again.
Agree, although I am sympathetic to the vets and appreciate that they worked through this whole period. But we had to have a conversation about end of life choices with our vet while sitting outside on a crowded patio, and then put her down in a corner of the parking garage where only 1 person was allowed to be with her. I know it's nothing compared to humans who died alone in hospitals, but at this point people are doing regular doctor appointments, etc so seems like vets could do some in person appointments.

Not in Virginia. Vets are in the second part of group 1b, which at least fairfax county hasn't expanded to include yet.

We see two different vets in Virginia who've both been vaccinated as part of 1b.
And other vets haven't been. A friend is a vet in another state and only got vaxxed after signing up as part of the Medical Reserve Corps to administer vaccines. Clearly everyone's experience is different.

Not at that hospital, but I had to take my bird to an avian vet, and the vet was on the phone with me to answer all my questions, while the bird was in the exam room and I was in the parking lot. It was great.
For my dog, I call on Dr. Perl, who is a really nice and down-to-earth mobile vet. Instead of coming into the house as usual, he sees dogs outside in the yard or driveway.
NP. How are doctor Perl's prices? That sounds very appealing.
