Might be worth mentioning that Tulane, perhaps more than other schools, has made applying cheap and easy: no application fee and only 1 required supplemental essay about an extracurricular activity. The Why Tulane essay is optional.

Also some grumbling in the student newspaper about its efforts to boost the number of applications

Tufts has about 1600 spots, 34k/1600 = 21x

NYU continues to be hot. So does UVA. Northwestern, Duke, and Brown, from what I hear as well.

Tulane engages in practices intended to drive up applications, like sending out targeted marketing, not requiring essays, no fee, etc.

This contrast starkly with schools like NYU (up 100+%) and Tufts (up 30+%). Percentage increases in applications year over year is how I would define “hot.”

NYU was up 20%. They received 100k applications.

Is there any chance you will ever develop beyond adolescence? Any at all?

Well, I wouldn't be on DCUM if I ever could become a thinking adult.

Michigan must be a hot school. It seems there are many threads devoted to it here.

Florida
Arizona
University of Texas
Tulane
Georgia

An odd list, what are you basing this on?

Went right over your head, didn’t it?

Wow PP so clever, yet so much disposable time to waste making fake lists on DCUM.

One school and one school alone stands above the rest: Arizona State.
