I believe in curses a bit. I'm a very lucky person to the point that friends make jokes about how I "fail up" and have nine lives. I don't do anything to generate luck, so the opposite has to exist. I guess I just believe in luck, both bad and good. I guess "bad luck" can be a curse of some sort if that makes sense.

So as someone who is actually familiar with and aware of witchcraft, my advice would be to pay a magical practitioner to do an "uncrossing" spell on you, just in case. A lot of times, having Christian faith will protect you from, especially regularly reciting protective prayers like Psalm 23. However, if it were me, I would want the additional power of having a witch put a protective spell over you. This is not black magic, so you dont have to worry about cursing yourself by doing this. They will simply do a spell to remove any curses or negative energy sent your way.

And, though I know everyone on DCUM will say youre crazy for even thinking this, I can tell you from someone who knows the community that people curse and put spells on people all the time, for petty reasons (same reason you get mad at someone for cutting you off in traffic even though you know you shouldn't care that much). So it's entirely possible they did.

I am not going to blast out names on here, but if you would like me to recommend a witch I can come back here and post some recs, just let me know. Again, this would be white magic, not dark magic, so you dont need to worry. And no I will not be posting or advertising for myself- I dont do spells for other people, but I have some names of trusted people who will do a good job.

Op here- I’ll let the vitriol bounce off me and land right back where it belongs. I am likely overreacting but that certainly doesn’t make me stupid. Geez.

Anyway, she told me she was a powerful witch for many lifetimes and in order for her to be born in this current life she had to let her twin die so she could break through. She was born healthy and her twin was stillborn. She said she feels the presence of her twin in her home but ignores that presence because she’s not interested in engaging. She said a lot of other things that I hadn’t heard before because I’ve never talked to anyone who admitted they were a witch.

I accepted what she said because I am open-minded and she was a friend. I told her about a bad experience I had at a new age store and felt a dark energy. (My sister is very woo woo and I was looking for a crystal to give her as a gift.)

Anyway, She asked me how I “protect” myself from dark energy and that is when I told her I ground myself in love of Jesus. “Jesus is my personal lord and savior and I am protected by his love. No evil or harm can come near or hurt me because, in the name of Jesus, I am protected by the armor of God.” It was a fluid, natural conversation. I didn’t say anything I feel embarrassed of or would hide from anyone who asked.

Anyway, the weather is nicer and I realized that my circle has gotten smaller but I know people are starting to get together for walks and play dates. I’m feeling excluded and I remember I haven’t seen or heard from her in months.

I now believe there is no curse. I’m more likely to believe she talked shit about me to cover what she revealed. I’ll keep it moving and put her and this thread out of my mind. Thanks for anyone who contributed positive responses.

I doubt your neighborhood witch put a curse on you. It's more likely she thought you overreacted to her lifestyle (grounded in the love of Jesus?) and told others. I mean, I'm Christian and think you overreacted; people can practice their own religion / spirituality without my judgement, even if it's not for me.

Just FYI, OP. Someone can be a Christian and follow a Wicca path. If she is a witch, it’s unlikely she would harm you intentionally. Rule of Three is kind of a big deal. However, if you are highly intuitive/sensitive, you could be holding onto to some of her energy. “Curses” are simply intentions. They are very easy to break. If it makes you feel better, perform a cleansing ritual. Since you’re a Christian, ask Jesus to intervene. AA Michael is another powerful helper. No spell is stronger than the vibration of divine love. Stand in your own power as well. Curses, spells, etc cannot harm you unless you allow it.
