I hope your DD gets accepted. With my DC, some schools definitely are more attentive and personal than others and it make a huge difference to DC and to us. It really varies. by school, and it is NOT just the desperate schools that are doing this. Some great T25 are also making the effort.
I'll be monitoring, OP. Let us know what happens.
Anonymous wrote:OP again: Just a quick somewhat unfulfilling update. He did write back, rather quickly. His message was nice but essentially a re-worked version of the first email. That he is happy to hear of her interest, hopes to meet her this fall, hopes he has the opportunity to train her, and the university is superb place for the sport because of these reasons. He avoided answering her direct question on admissions.
They release admissions notifications at the end of the month, so she's just going to have to wait it out. But for better or worse, this exchange definitely lifted her spirits and hopes.
The pins and needles this time of year are so sharp. Sending virtual compassion to all the kids (and parents) out there sweating it out this year.

It has been such a hard time to know where and how to apply. I really hope this works out for her, as it would give her both a school and a sense of community.
