In my ideal world I’d find an honest seeming woman who go could come over on a nice day and hang out for a while on our driveway / porch while I brought things out one by one and we determined a reasonable low price for what she wants - and most of what she didn’t want I’d just donate.
Is this a pipe dream? Anyone know of how I might find such a lady? Or is there a better way to easily and quickly sell baby gear?
I live in Arlington btw.
Are you offering to pay her? You could hire someone to do this and she could pretend to buy things.

You are most definitely an Arlington mom 🙄
“I want to bring items out one by one and bestow them on a poor woman so she can oh and ah an appreciate the amazing gift she is getting of me allowing her to purchase my old baby stuff cheap. I mean I am outfitting her with the best of the best - how lucky is she!” The only thing you forgot to add is it will give your kid practice with his 5 words of Spanish he has picked up from the immersion program ....
And yes this is exactly what you want to do because you know very well how and where to sell stuff online or how to google for a consignment shop

Are you a man?
What? No.
Seriously is my pipe dream THAT crazy???
Honestly we have a 23 year old babysitter who just came over and took a bunch of my old clothing (admittedly for free) like a Burberry coat and a bunch of Alo and Alala workout clothes and some Vince sweaters and she was thrilled and talked about how she consigns things and buys off consignment all the time, and I just thought, I wish I knew someone JUST like her who was pregnant so all the baby stuff I have could be appreciated by someone instead of trashed (and to be clear most of what goes to goodwill ends up in the landfill).
Clearly though I’m just coming across as a creep or a crazy person who thinks her stuff is more valuable than it is.

Anonymous wrote:Wow people harsh. I was the young new expecting mom just last year and I went to multiple houses meeting women like this and taking their stuff. I found them selling stuff on Nextdoor

Honestly in my pipe dream scenario I’d sell they mamaroo for like 20 bucks. The car seat for 10. The ergo baby for 10. Etc. just if I could sell it all at once.
But, I’m hearing what people are saying, and I appreciate that used stuff just is t that valuable, especially if one doesn’t want to put in the effort to go through things and list them one by one.
