Staining hasn't really been an issue with us. Maybe a handful of shirts have small tomato sauce stains, but it hasnt' really been a problem. Babies/toddlers wear fabric bibs for the major stuff. I usually rinse or shake off food chunks before throwing in the hamper, or will soak everything before putting straight in the wash if it's really messy.

We have very old wood floors with wide gaps between planks, so we put a vinyl floor mat under our kitchen table to help with overall cleanup. It looks nice (not "kid" patterned) but is a breeze to wipe up.
Other than than? nothing so special. We tried those suction bowls but they didn't work well. Rice is a pain to clean up but so be it. Yogurt etc just gets wiped up. It's a lot of clean up, but nothing to overthink. And self-feeding and playing with food is all part of the process, so just try not to stress!
