Well, the names we have considered for the baby are Henry, Harrison, and Truman.

Seriously? Truman??? Don’t do that to your child...

Also, what is your older child’s name that combined w Truman creates a famous person? I recognize that Henry and Harrison both go w the name Ford but Truman doesn’t fit.

FWIW, if your older kid is named Ford I wouldn’t name the younger one Harrison unless you just really love the name and don’t mind if people constantly bring it up. If your older kid is named Ford I think Henry is fine for the 2nd kid. Henry’s such a common name+ Henry Ford isn’t as distinctive of a name as Harrison Ford that I don’t think as many people will think of the famous Henry Ford.

Anyway, no one cares what your kids' names are. Really, truly. NO ONE CARES. It's also highly unlikely, unless your kids names really are Truman and Capote or Taylor and Swift, that people will notice, especially if they're common names. That said, don't name your kid Truman, that's just mean.

My niece and nephew have this and it makes me giggle. I don’t think it was intentional but I don’t think their parents thought it through.

This reminds me of this bigoted woman I grew up with and we still have mutual friends. Her kids’ first names combined are a famous African American writer, and it makes me chuckle. Most educated people recognize this if you say their names together. Anyway I’d probably avoid this OP, it will sound intentional.

This. Make sure it’s a famous person you admire.

If you're calling the older child first, the one with the famous surname, it shouldn't be as much as a problem. Just don't nickname the younger one "Truck"!

OK, I would suggest picking the name you like best out of Truman, Henry, and Harrison, and just using your very favorite. There are lots of nice boys' names ... you don't have to saddle Truman's brother with "Harry."

These are all fine names, BTW.

I wouldn’t go forward with it since you are already thinking about it and probably would continue to do so. Pick a name that doesn’t come with reservations. I still think of something regarding a friend’s name choice and it’s 30 years later!

So I don't think it's an issue but I guess it depends on the famous person and how common the names are?

Wow. That makes me feel better. Her name is pretty famous.

Ha happy to help! In my case, both names are very common. If the names are pretty unique, I guess the only downside would be that people might thing you did it intentionally.
