gertrude and frieda I can understand. but viola and ida don't sound as horrible to me.
we are thinking middle names and not first names. if they seem to dated or ugly, what about violet and ada instead?
I actually think Viola is back ... I've heard it a few times. I would have guessed vi-OH-la for pronunciation, though.
And Ida isn't crazy, because Ada is back.
I think both would be great middle names and I'll go ahead and vote for Viola as a first name.
