For the record, I have a huge sweet tooth and eat some sort of dessert (or multiple desserts) every day. I've been on a brownie sundae kick recently for some reason. No big deal as long as I cut back on other calories and eat plenty of fruits and veggies.

Fat and calories don’t matter.

I think 25 g of sat fat a day is too much. It is above the daily recommended value of 20 g which is already too much for a country where the leading cause of death is heart disease.

Cup of ice cream is not 400 calories.

I used to have a small bowl every night. No big deal.

Not weird at all. Enjoy the ice cream.

I’ve been eating one mochi every night. Easy to grab, and good portion control.

Same. This is why I run (among other reasons).

This! I do too. I go through different kicks. When I’m traveling in Europe I definitely have gelato every night. Those have been some of the great moments of my life. A hot summer night in a beautiful place enjoying gelato and wondering what could possibly be better than this moment right now.

At home, I need dessert every night or I’m not satisfied. I bake a lot. I keep a batch of a few different NYT cookie recipes in the freezer. They’re all pre-scooped so after dinner I bake 2-4 cookies and enjoy them! I’m fit and in shape. I’ve always had a sweet tooth.

We do it, too, and so did my family growing up. All thin people.

When I have dessert it's just usually a little ramekin full of ice cream I can make a pint last a while

My parents did it and they are in their 90s and pretty healthy (still live independently). My grandmother ate either ice cream or another dessert (pie, cake, or sometimes fruit with whipped cream) every night and lived to be well over 100, and in good shape until the end. Neither of them ate a lot of fried foods or things like chips, etc. -- just lots of fat from dairy, cheese, and some meat fat.

I do! But not a huge bowl or anything. I love the hold the cones from Trader Joes and lately have also been into their mochi. One of them is enough to satisfy my sweet tooth and they're so good!

Well, no, nobody should be eating a pint a day.

I don't eat much ice cream, but I do eat full fat organic plain yogurt most days. Should I not?

I thought the fat from food like that wasn't as bad as people used to think.

Plain yogurt doesn't have the sugar of ice cream, and I assume (but don't know) as much fat.
