We don't buy sweets. Occasionally, we'll bake on the weekends. In summer, we frequently have ice cream. My kids are still young and don't know any better

My kids have always had a dessert every night of the week. Usually it's an ice cream bar. Sometimes it's a piece of cake or pie (I bake both). They are teens now. Weight is just fine. I wanted to teach them moderation, how to eat as a routine, and quite frankly, how to live a little. You work during the day, you expend energy, you get a nice treat at the end of it. Enjoy.

Every day, if veggies and protein are eaten.
I make small cake pops frequently or cookies. I sneak chia & flax in but otherwise it’s very sugary.

Every night provided an appropriate dinner (defined as including at least a protein and a vegetable is eaten), and sometimes after lunch (again, if at least a protein and a vegetable is eaten). It's usually the all-natural vanilla ice cream, a cookie, or a small piece of chocolate, but we also sometimes do apples with caramel, or strawberries with chocolate. Probably once a week or so we have homemade or store bought cake, brownies, or pie.

Every night. Ds is too thin and can’t gain weight.

It used to be just a couple times a week, but since this pandemic, we're all having dessert daily after dinner -- popsicles or ice cream. We should probably cut down but it's the least of our problems.

Just have healthy dessert every night. A sorbet in the blender or something similar. Then you don't have to worry about it.

Every day after dinner. It's usually a popsicle, small ice cream treat or fruit. Sometimes chocolate.

2-4 times a week. It would be closer to two if it were up to us, but friends and neighbors will often stop by with something special (which I am happy to receive and reciprocate, but its generally unexpected and if we've had a treat the day before I'm not going to say no because of that).

This. Though although partially it’s a cultural thing too to have dessert as fruit. Ice cream was usually for special occasions/Fridays.

most days i'll give them a cookie, piece of chocolate etc. maybe once a week they get a more substantial dessert (icecream, cakepop, brownies). i like having something sweet and if they see me doing it they want it too. if they started asking or begging all the time or crying over more i'd probably cut back but otherwise my stance is enjoy life a little!

More often than not. Only for dinner. Usually, it's something really small - like just a couple of bites. Mostly it's a small scoop of ice-cream or a candy bar split 3 ways or an ice cream sandwich cut into 3. So we get something sweet, but just a small amount.

Daily. After dinner we all get a square or two of chocolate with some pretzels. On the weekend we’ll have a homemade sweet with breakfast- cinnamon rolls or donuts.

When the kids were younger, we did a little sweet something after dinner every night. By the time they got to elem school, they treated it as an entitlement and I wasn't happy with that attitude. So we switched it to weekends only. On occasion, we'll have dessert on the weekdays, but now it's viewed as something fun/special and not an entitlement.
