My son has worked at the local country club since sophomore year, this is his third summer. He is a golf cart attendant so he gets to be outside, not alot of close people interaction and he likes it.

Driver’s education
Some type of volunteer work, if you don’t want an in person option, then he can do a couple of food drives or find an organization that he can make lunches for
Summer workouts or exercise
Reading or getting ready for the next math
Yard work, painting project around the house
Learning or practicing cooking skills
My dad has applied for a couple of summer camp positions but if it doesn’t work out, then she’ll do a combination of something on the list plus fun time at the pool and social time with friends.

Both my kids volunteered as junior counselors at local camps the summer after sophomore year, DS1 at a camp run for low- income kids (he also volunteered for this organization's aftercare program after school 2 days a week throughout most of high school) and DS2 at a sports camp. Im not sure if there will be as many camp opportunities this summer, but these were great experiences for my kids, especially DS1.
