8 years is a lot of time. If he's not married maybe he realizes any time with you is time not being spent pursuing something more meaningful and with a potential future since it's obvious this FWB situation wasn't going anywhere. Sound like he did you a favor so neither of you wastes more time.

No. They don’t.

For the ones they do, it’s easy free sex without having to put in the work and hassle of finding a new FWB. Not exactly a compliment or testament to his feelings or quality of sex.

Did you go out to dinners, concerts, trips in those 8 years or was it just in the bedroom/hook-ups/bootie calls?

Did you ever meet any of his friends or family member? 8 years is almost a decade and if the answer is “no”, you were hidden for a reason. That reason is most likely he was married, in a committed relationship or didn’t want to be seen with you in public.
