He’s early 40s. Interests are outdoors-y stuff, art, writing, food, music, reading, acquiring knowledge in general. Very artistic, great eye for design. Super intelligent. We do a lot of hiking and outdoors stuff, pre-COVID we’d do classes together. He has 2 older kids.
I’ve asked him what I can do to strengthen our relationship and his reply was basically to tell him when I’m feeling depressed so he can help (I suffer from depression). He’s that kind of person, ha.
Sex is already 💯. Both of us are highly satisfied, and he knows I’m down for anything. We live close to each other, so I’ve started doubling my cooking and dropping some off for him. I’m trying to plan more of our outings since he does most of that labor, and I’m saving up for a post-pandemic trip.
The bold is hugely unattractive and controlling, IMO. He is a grown man who has somehow learned to feed himself well enough to keep himself alive for 40 years. It is not your job to cook meals for him like he is some kind of 80 y.o. shut in. Want to make a nice meal the two of you can eat together once in awhile -- fine. But dropping off food for him is gross.
Plan outings you can afford. Save for a post-pandemic trip. Share your interests and be interested in his.

When I want to do something nice for my BF I cook him something nice and give him a nice massage/foot rub. Or I do something to make his life easier like picking up laundry or doing his grocery shopping.

NP. This is kind of weird but I have four wigs that are matched to lingerie (1 classy, 1 trashy, 1 girl next door, and 1 domish), with accompanying footwear, and makeup. Not sure if I’d call it cosplay because the different personas are just looks and not personalities if you get what I’m saying. It started with a Halloween costume that had a wig and DH wanting to get down to business with me in the wig. This was eleven years ago. Weird yes but works for us.

NP. This is kind of weird but I have four wigs that are matched to lingerie (1 classy, 1 trashy, 1 girl next door, and 1 domish), with accompanying footwear, and makeup. +1. I’m pretty much down for anything and love a good role play but I’ve tried dressing up and just feel utterly ridiculous. We had a good laugh though.

I’d never be able to do it with a straight face. I’d just feel awkward. It would be like asking DH to wear a Speedo. He’d feel so out of sorts. Good for you to be able to pull it off.
Yea, I get that, in all my previous relationships I wouldn't have been able to do it. I'm lucky that my bf excels at creating a safe context where we can explore, and not just sexually, although there's lots of that too

I once took a lap dance class at a gym. It was pretty fun, I went with some girlfriends and in a few hours we learned choreography for a lap dance. Later that night I performed it for DH and he thought that was pretty cool. He said I was a bit Jamie Lee Curtis ala True Lies but he loved it and gave him a funny story.

I think it depends on the couple. My LH would have thought I was being ridiculous, but my BF would probably love it.
