Agree. For the same reason I think this is why some young men (20s/30s) also “date” (screw) older women. Easy, high sex drive, sexually open. Eva Longoria meets pool boy style.

Women are generally more "mature" in the sense that they want to settle down and have babies starting as young as 22!

If a 30something guy marries a 22 year old, granted they both want kids and a family, little else matters. In addition, she would be beautiful, fertile and energetic.

Who WOULDN'T want that!

The problem is a 22 year old guy rarely wants marriage and babies. He also would not want to have sex with an older woman.

I grew up in a college town and lots of girls thought it made them cool in high school if they had a college age boyfriend. My mom used to say - “if they want to date HS girls, there is probably a reason girls their own age won’t date them”.

I think that’s sound advice for many ages. Middle aged men might date women in their 20s because they are hot, but it’s also because older women probably won’t put up with whatever selfish, cheating, workaholic BS got them divorced in the first place.

My 50 something female friend only wants to date guys at least 15 years younger than she is, and she is really immature. It's all about the sex and how good they look for her too.

Having sex with my husband is a chore on top of all the other chores I have to do. Did I feel like this in my 20s? Hell no. I'd get a 20 smt GF too if I were an older man. I don't know where that leaves me on the market though.

I have a couple of experiences with this, but hate to generalize about why men do things broadly or how all men are.

I dated a guy for a few months about a year ago that is in his early 50s, but very good looking and very fun and "young." A former pro athlete. I'm in my late 30s. His most recent exGF was in her late 20s, has an ex wife who was 20+ years younger, and also found out he lived with a girl who was a senior in college while he was in his late 40s. He's a good person, but has a number of issues, maturity being one. I think he was having serious issues with aging and not being Mr Pro Athlete any more and still wanting to live that life. He was still very much in the bar/party scene and when I asked him, he straight up told me he never felt any lifestyle or maturity gaps between him and the 20-something women he usually dated. Which was telling.

The other man I know is 35 and very, very religious. He's so stuck in the word, he has had absolutely no life experience, no long term relationship, no experience dating. He just announced he finally has a girlfriend. She's 18 and graduated high school last year. Honestly, maturity wise, she's probably appropriate for him.

My first wife had no interest in being a mother. After our 12 year marriage ended I wanted a family. Married a woman 9 years my junior, we have two kids. Most older women I dated were not interested in starting a family.
