I was that way until I hit my 50s. Marriages blowing up (not my family or anyone in extended family) all around me--work, neighborhood, kids' friends. Middle aged people get weird and you start seeing a lot of 'oh my god, never would I thought' type stuff.

I literally did not even know a single divorced person or have a friend with a divorced parent until 2 years ago. There are no divorces in my family.

In my experience the OW are equally as attractive or less than the wife. It more attractive it is only because the OW is younger than wife.

1. They're much busier and may not have time for cheating.
2. If they do, they're obviously more competent at it.



SAHMs with kids or teens out of the house all day are NOT busier.

I will give you that a working mom is also busy running the house/dinners/transport, etc so very time strapped.

My BFF's (thin, athletic, very ambitious and accomplished) DH cheated on her and left her for very curvy, more outwardly sexual in dress, but basically dumb dental hygienist. Better looking is in the eye of the beholder, right - depends on what you find attractive.

Yes. Someone please weigh in. So tired of people acting like there aren’t tons of married women cheating. There were a few betrayed husbands posting- maybe they can answer.

My friend whose husband cheated on her was gorgeous. Killer body and looks. All the husbands drool over, but she’s so nice nobody gets jealous.
Fwiw, her husband was mega-hot too. I didn’t see a photo of OW- but other friends said she was homely. They really seemed head over heels in love, sad all the way around.

Our female neighbor that cheated affaired down—shorter, stockier cheesy guy.

The old trope that men affair down, does it actually bear out among the cheaters you know?

It's repeated so often, I used to accept that fact, but when I actually think about the cheating men I personally know, their wives are overweight and haggard and the OW are all more attractive, if only because they're more sexual. As in, since they are still interested in sex, they put more effort into their appearance.

I know we'll hear about the 50-year-old Ashley Madison woman and the ugly redhead that looks like a witch (stop already), but in my experience the OW are all lightyears more attractive than the wives.
