Trails in Rock Creek were pretty icy looking still when I went through late yesterday afternoon. For hiking probably okay but wouldn't try trail running.

I ran 7 on the mall yesterday which was mostly clear, a few spots of slush mixed with ice.

Was supposed to do 5 this morning but postponing til later in the day when it gets above freezing.

Not sure, but I know a lot of trails in VA have been salted and are very clear. If you're going out for <5 miles or so it should be fine. Long run, you may have more issues looking for distance that's clear.

There are still icy patches here and there so watch your footing, but paths seems overwhelmingly clear on trails.

Anyone want to accept the challenge to just do it and run in this mess?

How about a mile. Can we all agree to just one mile?

I will if you will. Anyone?

You sound neurotic. Do you have an obsession with exercise?

Trying to muster up mental motivation by challenging others = neurotic?!

Are you fat?

I ask that because that's something I'd say out of jealousy, when I was fat.

I ran today on the roads. Sidewalks and track were covered in snow and ice but roads were fine.

It was terrible in DC. I'll wait until tomorrow.

You just have to find the right surfaces to run on. Snow on top of some ice is actually pretty good, as you get some crunchy traction. And slow down, obviously.

Or if you know of any gravel paths those can work well.

Friday: going to shoot for 3 miles. My canine running buddy will be staying at home.

Nope. I took the dog to the dog park during a break in the sleet to get steps in, did a virtual workout through my work, and another workout with the kids.

I’ll run in snow, not ice.

No way. I will run in every weather but ice and lightning. I’m tough, but not willing to take foolish risks.
