No its, not. It goes on time share and income. The custodial parent also has an obligation to financially support the child/ren as well. So, that's not full support, its only Dad's share.

I find that so many people believe that child support is supposed to cover all of a child’s expenses and that’s not true. It’s just a portion. So many times women are disappointed and say they are not getting enough child support when in reality the cost of living and raising a child is higher than then realized and that they will actually need to increase their own income since now they are dependent on a single income.
That wasn't my point. My point was that the state of Virginia treats Arlington and Roanoke the same. If you think that's equitable, fine. VA has the lowest child support rate in the DMV.
Yes, its equitable. Mom can choose to move to a lower cost area if she cannot afford where she is living at. Most things in divorce, custody and child support aren't equitable.

She can file and it can cause a lot of issues. Generally it is not considered, but sometimes. My husband's ex did that to us. However, it backfired as older kids got removed from the child support that should have been over and her alimony was terminated. They do look at new spouse income but it shouldn't be based on it. Mine was taken into consideration as it put him in a higher tax bracket.
If he does a modification, it can cost him more in attorney fees vs. actual amount paid.
He probably has zero time share and visitation is at will of Mom.

I would suggest that if this is a problem for you, you find a man without such an obligation. Especially if you are not a high income earner and want your own dc. You will only become more and more resentful when you aren't able to afford things for your own dc you feel they need/deserve. Depending on where you live, he could be also be responsible for cs until the child is 21.
I agree. Don’t marry him if you’ll feel resentful. Likely his kid will be able to afford much more than yours will, especially if you have 2 kids. They’ll get camps and activities that you otherwise can’t afford for 3 kids

Depends on the state. Some include expenses others don’t.

It’s based on both parents’ income plus certain expenses (childcare or tuition, health insurance), and then apportioned based on parenting time.
So if his spouse is also a high earner, but has significantly more parenting time, and has high insurance or tuition costs, I can see why it’s so high.
