I agree with this. And, OP, proceed with caution. Both of my nephews were that way and at 5 and 6 they both still don't care and have frequent (multiple times a week) accidents. It will just click for some kids, but for others it can turn into a battle you're fighting for years. For a 3ish year old (give or take a few months), I would do naked potty training and bribe if needed. Not worth the risk to me.
That's why you start earlier when they're pliable. It's less of a battle if you do it at 20-30 months. They're eager to please.
