He is showing you exactly who he is - he’s great when everything is perfect for him, and become emotionally abusive when it’s not. If you stay with him, you will spend your life walking on eggshells to avoid upsetting him, always giving up what you want/need to keep peace with him. He is doing you a huge favor by showing you this side of himself so early. Please don’t waste any more time on this relationship - end it.

OP, you are entitled to a preference --- that this is NOT the life you want.
Decide. Decide that you wish for something better. A different person.

Big big red flag.
Dump his a$$.
That isn't how an adult deals with conflict.

Major red flag, and flashing alarm. No going back after this.

I married someone like this...it's been a rough road. I have often thought back to the first time he did this to me after a few months of dating and wish I had left at that moment.

He is showing you who he really is...believe him

Run and do not look back.

Dump him. I'm embarrassed to say I would regularly do this to my college boyfriend as a way to punish him and it was immature and WRONG. Looking back, I would've hated being treated this way and will never do it again. You deserve better OP.

...or worse - a narcissist, abusive. Run, don't walk, OP!

Five months isn’t enough time to bother trying to salvage it. If you were married, I’d say have a conversation about how it makes you feel, but for a five month relationship- move on

Exactly. If he can’t handle a minor argument after 5 months, imagine what he would be like if you had a baby and are massively sleep deprived and not at your best. Or if you have a teenager with mental health, academic or addiction issues. Is this the kind of partner you want to navigate stressful situations with? In case you are confused, the answer is NO. Break up with him now. And tell him why in case he has an ounce of self-awareness and wants to tackle this deal-breaking issue in his personality.

Break up. Don't look back. You really do not want to be with someone like this. Find someone better. This is not a guy worth fighting for.
