Dartmouth has a deeply ingrained culture of misogyny, classism and both veiled and explicit racism. They've had this reputation for decades and decades. The reason why this culture will not change any time soon is because the most influential alumni (who also tend to remain highly involved in the wider Dartmouth community) are the very people who reveled and partook in that same culture, and will stop at nothing to see it remain alive and well.

As it’s reputation gets around, it will probably get worse. Because people who are turned off by this caveman , entitled, misogynistic environment will choose elsewhere.

Who probably also wishes we could go back to how America was in the 1950’s.

I am used to seeing Indian-American faces in pictures celebrating great academic or scholastic achievements. Shocking to see it in the group of women who got raped by their Ivy League professors. Only sad that no real justice has been served with the professors resigning.

Oh no, they’ve got some really great programs. It sounds like it’s a toxic social environment. Toss in the isolation factor and it sounds even less pleasant.

Just asked my senior what the word is about Dartmouth, she said "the date rape school where they haze you to death."
