Some of it looks very grand-millennial in style, esp with those Etsy pug pillows. I like the bedroom and his bathroom and some of the individual pieces but much of it is really stuffy. It’s funny how much of it is back in though, including the gold trim stuff, those comfy velvet chairs, some of the rattan look stuff.

Agree. It is almost impossible not to think about the owners and focus solely in the decor. Maybe if OP had just presented it as an example of the period. But once you throw in the Duke/Duchess, it becomes tied to them and their story - including the Nazi leanings.

And the kitchen was likely in the basement or connected out back. They had servants, you know. No need to cook for themselves.
