No Republicans ever. They are bad for society.
Many voters are selfish and have no memory. They will forgive a republican who looks like their neighbor and who went to William and Mary.
I'm an equal opportunity voter - no matter what the person looks like - or their party - if they will open schools full time - they have my vote. That's unusual for me but I think the backbone of our society is public education.
He CAN'T open schools full time. He's just saying he wants to--an extremely popular position that he knows will get people to vote for him, even though it requires no actual work on his part as a candidate. Please think harder about what kind of governor he would actually be if elected.
Earlier this summer the NJ gov said schools had to open in person. Now he later recanted but I’m interested in learning about the Gov power on this point in VA. I hope some VA politicos are reading this & that campaigns will start addressing this issue. Specifically I’ll be voting in the D primary for Governor first.

I said I want to hear from all of them what they’ll do. I’m not automatically voting for this guy but this is my # issue to consider for the upcoming election. I would prefer a D gets it done but I am not against voting R if I have to.

Oh and I’m not convinced a D Gov candidate won’t say they’ll open schools. You’re the one who thinks open schools is republic apparently. I think it is bipartisan.

Sounds like a stupid reason to vote for someone as gov.
Stupid unless you have young children learning nothing. This is the ONLY issue I’m voting on.

Parent of a first grader here and absolutely this is the single most important voting issue for me and most of my friends with similarly aged children. Pp is clearly out of touch.

I beg to differ. You obviously don't have school-age kids.
I have 3 but I know that running a state involves many issues and that my concerns about school belong at the local level.
So we go back to school in the fall, and everybody has selected a governor that will just spend the next 4 years stripping funds away from other initiatives that require attention. You guys will get one thing but you'll lose 25 other items. If that makes sense to you.
I'm concerned we won't go back to school full time in the fall. But guess what - the election is not until November - so if the public school kids are back in school 5 days then - I'll reassess who I vote for.
