You need to figure out finances and if she would need merit in addition to need based financial aid. Run the net price calculators. If you can, start doing some virtual college visits to find a good fit.

Look at the high school's Naviance and see where kids with those stats get in. If the high school isn't well-regarded by colleges, you're going to have to lower your expectations. OTOH if the HS is a Big 3 DC private, then the 3.9 GPA will get her farther.

My husband went to the U of Del honors program and LOVED it. He has so many life long friends from the program and went on to medical school at Hopkins. Just had to put a plug in. We'd be thrilled if any of our kids choose it when they go to college.

I can say that’s my FAVORITE and where I’d go! DC has to choose though.

Do they want to play their sport in college? The main advantage, to a college, of the student playing a sport is if they need that student to play on their college team. Otherwise, sports participation, for the sake of being well rounded and proving commitment, doesn't have much sway.

So, they are open to Catholic/Jesuit colleges? Lots of those in or near cities. Which ones may be the best fit will be impacted by test scores, though presumably test optional will also still be possible.

So, suburban to urban and/or "good college town." Mid-size to large?

For finances, as an example to start with, use BC's Net Price Calculator and tell us whether it's an affordable option.
