Shes a 2026. Have been in tournaments in STL and PHX this year. Cost is about $2500/year, irrespective of tournament travel. Practices have not stopped but have continually evolved (split into groups of 7, midday outdoor practices, etc.) Some tournaments shifted (sin city cancelled in Dec but moved to Mesa AZ in Jan). Good communication good teambuilding, in general.

I feel like we have paid for a lot of things in advance this year, as a family, that have downshifted due to the pandemic.

If it is safe to play, great. If we sign up for a bunch of stuff and pay through the nose, and they don't get to happen.....

I have number in my head. Their materials left out the pricing part.

Nice job insulting the local lacrosse community. I think you covered everyone. I guess we are all dumb when it comes to lacrosse, and anybody not at True is doomed to a life of community college and Dad coaches.

I have been around the sport for years. The top players in the 2021-2023 class were the best players on the MS and ES school teams. The top 2023 team is coached by a dad. It takes a top rated HS player to succeed at a good D3 program. Many of them are above the lower D1 programs. VLC plays every kid on the roster v winning. Some do play more true will not have superior coaching locally. I am not Einstein This post is True

The Einsteins on here think that a great ES or MS player = great HS player. Not correct. Kids will grow and put in extra time. As long as they have good coaching kids will improve greatly. Dude, is this sarcasm again. Who cares what the last player or the last 5 on any roster do. Those kids and parents are one step from leaving the sport anyway and playing for a team getting beat 15-1 doesn't help.

If it somehow equated to lower prices for clubs that'd be great, somehow it will only result in clubs finding more ways to charge more.

Wouldn't the bottom few guys on any of the good 2027 club teams be slated to play at a public HS? Not everyone is aiming for private HS lacrosse.

Good to hear that, but there are already several Nationally ranked/recognized/established club programs here in the DC area. Just because their formula worked in the midwest, doesn’t mean it will in one of the lacrosse hotbeds of the country. Even minor clubs like Hammers, Rough Riders, and Top Caliber have a leg up on them in that area. If anyone is getting hurt by this move it is those clubs. Would just be fighting for scraps at the dinner table while the big boys continue to feast.

I wouldn't describe NOVA as long standing or elite. The four local clubs that I would describe that way are VLC, NextLevel, BLC (becoming DCE in 8th grade) and MadLax. There is a steady stream of players leaving all four programs, but they tend to go to one of the other three. It is hard to envision the good players going to True.
