Honestly, to me it seems you were also depressed (posting because if others find themselves too overwhelmed to wash hair for 2 months, that's a huge red flag).

I have Asian hair. Straight and long. I've done it for 7 days then i stretched to to another 7 days but i washed my hair one time during the 2 weeks without shampoo, just water.
All the oil stick and gunk stick on the hair and on your scalp.
Definitely enjoyed washing my hair. I think i was just trying to get my scalp to its original oil. It was blah.

Once a week but I have had to build up to this over time. Now I need dry shampoo after about five days.

I was my hair once a week.

I have dry, thin, straight/wavy hair. It's taken a bit to get to this point but it is nice. When I do wash my hair I always wash it twice with shampoo and make sure to really get all the oil out. I also use a very hydrating conditioner. I can usually get to day 4/5 before I need to put my hair in a ponytail.

When I was terribly ill w/pneumonia showering was not a high priority.

I remember going a full 4-5 days w/no shampooing.
But I was so sick, that it never bothered me personally.

I have thick, course Asian hair & shampoo daily since I have an itchy scalp.
I suspect psoriasis.

I routinely go a week between washes.

The longest ever was probably 3 or 4 weeks.

I have fantastic hair, the kind that looks like it's fake.

I have thin, straight hair that is oily quickly. It does not do well without washing. I keep trying to spread it out during this time at home, but I just can't stand having a greasy head.

I think an every other day system would be good for me. But I have a hard time getting through the oily part.

I've gone a week, while on a back country back pack trip in my 20s.

I can go about a week when I am at the beach.

Usually, I wash my hair every three or four days.

I can't go more than 2 days without starting to develop seborrhea. My husband had to wash my hair after I broke my arm. People say you can go longer and that might be true for some but not everyone.

I typically only use shampoo (cowash) once a week. I also water "wash" my hair mid-week to reset my curls.

I tested washing my hair every 4 days for the past 6 months, and I can’t tell the difference. When we can go out freely again, there’s no way I can go longer than washing my hair every other day.

If you can’t tell the difference why must you do it more?

My hair looks dirty (greasy) after 36 hours. I can get away with it being at home, but not in public.

I agree this is mostly dependent on the person’s hair. I have very dry , thick , straight hair and I think I’ve gone about a week before during an illness but that is the absolute longest I could go. My hair starts looking dirty around 4 days , I usually wash with shampoo every other day , it looks the best on the 2nd day. My sister has very fine , straight hair and hers starts looking dirty by just the end of the day. She’s tried not to wash it as often, and used dry shampoos in between , but she can’t wait that long.
