What strength classes do you guys like?

Depends on how you like to work out. I love Jess Simms, her classes are non-stop. Andy’s classes move more slowly but he focuses on heavier weights and form. Adrian is more Andy like.

You probably just need to try different instructors and figure out who you like. There is a facebook group, HardCORE on the floor that puts together a monthly calendar of classes that uses pretty much all of the instructors.

Jess Sims is my favorite but I like to just go all out for 30 min, and not have tons of breaks. I’ve found the classes taught by big dudes are, as PP said, slower and more focused on heavy lifting. Unfortunately, I don’t think there are others like Jess Sims- I think Rebecca Kennedy is super annoying.

I use the app with a $400 bike I got on amazon. Loving it!

My biggest beef with it is that there aren't enough long workouts. Although you can do more than one, they each have warmups and cooldowns which make a consistently challenging workout difficult.

I enjoyed the runs more than I thought I would - turns out it's fun having someone in your ear coaching you along! Same nit, though - only one or two of them were over 30 minutes.

I did not pay for the app when my trial ran out. Too many other good apps/content elsewhere.

There are 5-60 minute workouts in almost every area Peloton teaches, not sure how long you are looking for.

Yes, there are live running, strength, yoga, meditation, boot camp classes. I mostly do on demand because it fits my schedule better but I will do a live if I hit a milestone and I will get a shout out (eg 300 runs).

I finally downloaded the app to take advantage of the free trial. When I log in several classes show up as options. How can I tell if it is live vs on demand? Are they by default live?

On the mobile app, click on the calendar button in the upper right corner and you’ll see live classes you can “join”

Thanks!

Strength classes are great. I do cardio on my own and Peloton for strength, HIIT, etc...

I really enjoy the tread workout classes. We have an elliptical and a treadmill and I was losing motivation. Decided to try the peloton app, and love it. The instructors are solid, and there are enough you can find a personality you like. I have done the strength classes, runs, and tread boot camps. My DH uses the stretching, as he does his own workout but wasn’t taking the time to stretch properly. He says his flexibility is improving after doing it consistently for about 3 weeks.

If you like group fitness classes and are motivated by then, I think these are a decent replacement. I can really push myself and focus on the workout using the app in a way I couldn’t when doing my own workout.
