Masks are stupid to wear when exercising, according to WHO as of 12-1-2020:

"Should I wear a mask while exercising?

Even when you’re in an area of COVID-19 transmission, masks should not be worn during vigorous physical activity because of the risk of reducing your breathing capacity. No matter how intensely you exercise, keep at least 1 metre away from others, and if you’re indoors, make sure there is adequate ventilation."

https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/coronavir...20is%20adequate%20ventilation.

We're insane to try to force our kids to do this.

How do you propose soccer players stay at least a meter away from each other when they are trying to shoulder each other off the ball?

The risk of reducing your breathing capacity. What does that even mean? Didn't the WHO send 2 Covid positive individuals to Wuhan to investigate the source of the Covid outbreak? I think we would better off using our money to pay off student loans then giving money to the WHO.

AAP recommends mask wearing for indoor and outdoor sports:
Cloth face coverings have been shown to decrease transmission rates of SARS-CoV-2; therefore the AAP encourages that athletes wear them at all times for group training, competition, and on the sidelines. Individual sports performed outside, such as golf and singles tennis, are lower risk for transmission of SARS-CoV-2, and a cloth face covering may not be necessary for these activities. Cloth face coverings have been shown to be well tolerated by the majority of individuals who wear them for exercise, but we acknowledge that the covering may need to be removed under certain circumstances.

And it won’t fall off.

Thank you

Sounds like you are in Maryland. It probably won't be an issue, as they don't want kids playing soccer anyway. The Sports Complex limits the number of people on a field to 25 total. Sounds right, no? 11+11+ 2 coaches and 3 Refs .... but then what do you do with the substitutes. Absolutely nuts, Logan is.

Nobody is forcing your kids to do "this" (I assume "this" to be wearing masks while they play). How is it any different than requiring them to wear shin pads? If you have a problem, don't play. Simple.

My kids have both had success with the aforementioned Adidas masks. I think we got them 3 for $30 on Amazon.

Add Under Armour. $30 each, but they work well.

Agree that these work best (at least for winter; might be too warm come summer). They're on sale for 2 for $40 on the UA site right now.
