Seriously, all the chaos of standing up a new school in a grungy old building with trailers. At least playground is nice.

Grungy? It’s decorated with wonderful Latina-themed art. Hope it stays.

There is a naming process underway for a new name for the current Key site. I don’t know if we (immersion) get to keep the Key name or not (he owned slaves, so not sure if they will let anyone use that name now).

I’ve had kids at ASFS for the past six years, and my third grader has trouble with distance learning so I sit next to him for his morning classes.
So far, the art teacher, the music teacher, and one of the math coaches has left. I dont know if it happened before the school year or not. One of the good second grade teachers left maybe a month ago, and two of the more experienced first grade teachers already didn’t come back this year. They announced the second grade teacher leaving and the art teacher too in the morning announcements. I asked about the music teacher and the math coach. Just looking at the staff pages, it looks like 3/5 of k, first, and second are teachers who either taught a different grade last year or have only been teaching for 1-2 years.

What's going on there?

There is usually some amount of turnover, but most of this year's changes were due to COVID. One teacher's spouse had a job move.
