I never understand why so many DCUMErs seem so proud of the 4 something you want, need, read, wear concept.

Anyway, our kids probably get somewhere between 7-10. Books and clothes are the few things they get throughout the year, so Christmas presents are rarely clothes, unless it’s something I wouldn’t normally buy, like a jersey or overpriced basketball shoes. I do stick some books in there, but my kids are not impressed by that!

We try to steer the sibling to get something from the "something you want, need, wear and read" concept but so far they don't want to, and we don't think this is the hill to die on, especially since we got the grandparents on board with it.

We dont do clothes as gifts. So 4-5 each. 2-3 from us snd whatever from grandparents. I do count one package of 5 books as one gift.

It seems like a LOT to me, as I didn't grow up with lots of presents. But DS is only four so the gifts are smaller even though there are a lot of them. Like a beading set, a box of glitter glue in different colors, a Light-brite. 2 gifts from the grandparents, 2 gifts from aunt/uncle, and lots of little things in the stockings (hot cocoa, hand sanitizer shaped like a Christmas tree, stickers).

I think as DS gets older, he'll get fewer presents, but bigger ones. Like maybe a bike and a couple smaller presents. Or a video game set. At least I hope so. MIL and FIL kind of go Christmas crazy - the last few years we were all opening like 10 gifts each... Most of it little trinkets nobody needed. I'd be happy paring down to just a couple of meaningful or practical gifts per person.

Mine each have around 10 gifts and stockings. (From us/Santa)

Some of the gifts are practical items like clothing etc.

Grandparents mail gifts? Ugh mine are holding ours hostage

When they were little and toys were less they got a lot more. Maybe 10 things total from us and Santa? Now they want big ticket items so that’s basically it with a few random things for the stocking like bath bombs or a cell charger.

Probably a dozen or so, but nothing big ticket. In our family, grandparents, aunts and uncles send gifts to kids, so that probably accounts for quite a few.

Actually, now I count, at least a dozen books, plus associated other stuff -- a nice water bottle, a couple tee shirts, miscellaneous stuff. Probably socks in there somewhere. (I hope I get socks.)

One pricey gift (nintendo switch, each got one game to start,), about 2 other gifts from us and one or two from grandparents.
They also get to choose gift to donate.

No idea. We were in the process of moving, but now there’s a problem. The presents are in boxes at the new house. So I got some used stuff of of Facebook Marketplace for Christmas 1. We’ll have Christmas 2 whenever we move in. So essentially zillions.
