Agree. Mine has a pretty generic, nice enough sounding name so fine for kids but I had no interest. He was basically like, "do whatever you want. Seems like most professional women keep their names so always assumed you would too, but you can have it if you want."
I REALLY don't understand women who take terrible last names. I have a few friends like that and I just do not get it. "I was never really a fan of my maiden name Coleman and it was important to DH so I am a Buttkiss now." No way, no how.

My DH's name, spoken over the phone, can sound a lot like a very famous actor. We've had a range of outright confusion, a hang up from a host thinking it was a prank call, and disappointment when we nobodies showed up.
